The Host

TAKE 2017 will be held in Zagreb the capital city of Croatia at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business. 

The University of Zagreb is the oldest Croatian university and also the oldest university in South East Europe. The university was officially founded 23 September 1669 by Emperor and King Leopold I Habsburg when the study of philosophy in Zagreb acquired a formal and legal status as Neoacademia Zagrabiensis and officially became a public institution of higher education.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb is a constituent part of the University of Zagreb. Its origins date back to 1920. The Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb has a high reputation in educating experts in the areas of economics and business in Central and Southeastern Europe. It is committed to meet the expectations of students by developing modern educational programs and by encouraging scientific research. The true value and worth of the Faculty of Economics and Business are its graduates whose number has now exceeded 75.000. At the moment, more than 10.000 students are enrolled in various study programs. That makes Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb one of the largest educational institutions in field of economics and business in Central and Southeastern Europe.


The Location

TAKE 2017 will take place in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia, the youngest member of the European Union. It is a modern city with a rich Central European culture and history. Zagreb is known as a hospitable and a pleasant city on the historic and political threshold between East and West and, therefore, it is branded as "Zagreb - city with a million hearts". The Scientific Objectives

TAKE 2017 will have the following objectives:
a) To analyze the relation between the theory and the applications the economy of the 21st century.
b) To understand how to improve the management of  the knowledge based economy we live in. 
c) To analyze the today’s economy putting together contributions for various fields, namely Knowledge Management, Intellectual Capital, Human Resource Development, etc. 
d) To deal with specific problems we felt are decisive in the economy as Competitiveness, Innovation and Entrepreneurship;
e) To analyze specific sectors that are at the heart of the economic live like the Public Sector, and Logistics, 
f) To analyze the case of specific countries, and not only  in the developed OECD countries but also in the BRICs.

We consider the knowledge economy a broad spectrum which includes things such as diverse as: HRD, KM, IC, etc, as described by the 10 standing streams and therefore we welcome really contributions in all these fields.


The Team

For this conference we have gathered together a team of 17 scholars from 11 countries (Austria, Canada, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Liechtenstein,  Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, and USA), that will assure the development of 12 streams, in different areas of the topic Theory and Applications in the Knowledge Economy.

And it will be organized in collaboration of University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business (Croatia); GOVCOPP, Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal) and E4 Conferences Scientific Organization.

TAKE 2017 will also co-managed by GOVCOPP the research centre on Public Policies classified with Excellent by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology in 2015.

TAKE 2017 will be also managed by E4 Conferences Scientific Organization a company specialized in organizing international conferences.   


The Programme Commitee

The Programme Commitee consists of the conference keynote speakers and stream leaders. The stream leader(s) are responsible for organizing and managing the blind peer-review process within the particular conference stream. The conference papers are peer-reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. The Programme Commitee is responsible to maintain high ethical standards regarding the peer-review process.
